Our Mission

The Path Project serves as an information and advocacy center for minors facing difficult pregnancy choices. We help teens under the age of 18 navigate the courts so that they can make decisions about their own reproductive health care.

FIND A LAWYER

Getting a Lawyer

Under the law, there is no cost to you to have a lawyer for your hearing, and we advise that you have an experienced lawyer help you with your judicial bypass.  You are entitled to have a lawyer represent you.  Each court deals with lawyer appointments differently.

We urge you to call the Circuit Court in your area (it doesn't have to be in the County where you live) and tell the court staff that you need to file a judicial bypass petition and that you want to have a lawyer appointed to represent you.  The court should have procedures in place to help you.  If you run into problems, please call the PATH hotline at (877) FLA-PATH [877-352-7284].

OUTSIDE FLORIDA
If you are a teenager in another state who plans to come to Florida for your abortion, you may petition for a judicial waiver in any County in Florida.  Call the PATH Project hotline for assistance.
